If only more Texas legislators had been willing to listen to the librarians and booksellers. But who needs expertise when you've got unearned, misplaced confidence?

I remember the night I testified against HB 900 before a Texas Senate committee. One member arrogantly told his colleagues that there was certainly no constitutional issue with the legislation they were considering. youtu.be/sylo5-GTdpk

In his ruling, Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Alan Albright wrote, "This Court previously enjoined READER in 2023. Facing the same issues, this Court finds the same result: READER misses the mark on accomplishing its goal and is unconstitutional. "

And just think — everyone who attended their first one today now knows that it’s *not* a “hate America” rally. They might even wonder why they were lied to about that…

And while it is profoundly embarrassing that so much of this documentary takes place here in Texas, it was nonetheless a joy to see so many of my freedom- (and Freadom-) loving friends up on the screen. I appreciate and admire them so much.
