There are many populat issues that all Democrats support, like taxing teh rich and rausing the minimum wage. They just need to talk about those issues and other 60/40 issues and stop talking about those that are divisive among Democrats and poll badly among the general electorate.

I'm not sure it was cynicism so much as clever political strategy. The Tea Party was a spontaneous force that just needed direction. Koch supplied the leadership. By contrast, Democrats did everything in their power to ignore and destroy OWS, which was a left-wing version of the Tea Party.

No but I think there are more serious problems to worry about, such as people starving because they don't have SNAP benefits.
