Just started playing Guild Wars 2 recently as my first MMORPG.
Managed to experience my first world event due to a player who got the "Commander" tag. They typed in all chat that a world event was spawning soon and to come to their tag on the map and sure enough like 50 people were there. Good fun!

If we're being more generous we could also chuck in a few messaging spells to allow for long distance communication.
Maybe a minor barrier spell to provide shelter or protect from monsters or accidents, could save your life from a collapsing building.

Very dependent on the system and how this magic is distributed. If we're going off of divine magic a basic cure wounds is a must.
Arcane magic? Prestidigiation, mending, maybe some mild fire magic.
And of course any system should have basic light spells, much like how everyone has a torch.

Cool. Still managed to contribute more to charity than 99% of players on the platform.
Turns out people can be bad and good. Just because he did bad does not make what he did here not good and vice versa.
