Man, if ever we needed an example of how much we over-value prospects, just check out the history of the #6 Top 25 Under 25. Former #6's: (2022-2010) Barron, Poehling, Primeau, Mete, KK, Scherback, Lindgen, De La Rose, Beaulieu, Leblanc and Danny Kristo!!!! Not a star in the bunch.

JFC went from worried about Guhle having something minor to him being out for two months and Laine and Dach out as well! Time to test the depth already. I liked Beck last night for Laval. Should be interesting.

Hard to argue with any of this analysis. It really seems like it all hinges on Dach and Newhook being able to win faceoffs and not get caved in defensively. Hughes' first big swings at the draft are at the make or break stage.

Overall not a lot to get excited about for a first preseason game but I liked what I saw from Laine, Demidov, Dobson, Japanese and Beck. Engstrom perhaps tried to do a little too much. I hope Mesar gets a chance to play a lot in Laval.

Have to admit Laine seems to have gained a step. Skating looks much less labored.

This is huge. It might not seem like a big deal but for Quebeckers, this is a big deal and sign of respect. Good on Nick. Quebec will love you for making the effort.
#Habs captain Nick Suzuki says he has been learning French on his own picking stuff up through his francophone team-mates and being out & about in Montreal. Says he can read & speak pretty good but sometimes understanding when someone is talking to him quickly slips him up.
