I'm just amazed at the prices dealers ask for even the most overprinted and 'bad' comics. Even online, it is definitely not the era of cheap back issues. Which is a shame because a lot of them are not worth the price they are asking for.

Same here! I never pre-order tpb's but this one I did, just to make sure :p

Hmm might buy the TPB of Ram V's New Gods then. Not really buying anything new but Kirby's New Gods ... that's something that never reached its potential outside of the King himself. Ram V made me buy Detective Comics again so ... And I am enjoying the Sandman MT Omnibus (Seagle/Davis) immensely.

I really like the New Gods but I never dared touch this one. If I ever find it super cheap but it's mostly to satisfy my curiosity I think. I am curious about Ram V's contemporary take on the New Gods, don't see a lot things written about it so I have the feeling it's a bit under the radar.

At least the Pulp Heroes all had amazing covers :) The Batman one is pretty good and survives every purge of my collection. Solid Doug Moench story and very moody early JH Williams III art - dc.fandom.com/wiki/Batman_...

I think for me it started a bit earlier, with Geoff Johns' Infinite Crisis which was so violent towards it's characters and their history that I felt really off for me. I don't mind violence but here it was really misplaced and felt a bit too pervy for me.

I certainly relate to this statement. The only cool thing there was Grant Morrison's Superman.

Walter Mosley's The Thing mini-series is an excellent read combining Silver and Modern age storytelling with an excellent grip on The Thing's psyche!
