Our foster dog has started wagging his tail. A week and a half ago when I picked him up, the tail was firmly tucked. He cowered and winced, recoiled at every movement in his direction. This morning I heard him bark for the first time.

We picked up our new #foster dog last night. This is Loki. He's about the size of a horse (though a bit underweight). He's sweet and friendly and already making himself at home. How long will he be with us? Who knows? He's our fifth (I think) and the longest was with us for five months.

It's been 24 hours. The war in Ukraine is still going on and eggs aren't free. But he did lift the cap on insulin pricing and his prime minister threw a couple of seig heils.

My book sales and rankings kind of cratered over the holidays and I came really close to dumping/changing my ads. I decided to wait it out instead and I'm glad I did. This past week has been my best week in a very long time.
