Today, one of my closest friends closed-out 38 years of service to the Chicago Fire Department. Cornelius Foley, thank you for all you have done for the City of Chicago and thank you for being an amazing friend. I am so happy this day has come and you are retiring walking out of the firehouse.

Some Heroes Don't Wear Capes. This past week the crew from A Safe Haven planted almost 140,000 bulbs along Chicago's Michigan Avenue. One of my favorite moments is hearing people driving by and saying "thank you" to workers. We'll see the results of their work in 6 months!
