I am very proud of Cillian Power, who completed his MSc project in my lab (Dept. Pharmacology, UCC) on receiving the Pat Allen Medal for best project in his year (Dept of Biochemistry, UCC)! He’s now pursuing his PhD with my colleague Prof. Wendy Noble at the University of Exeter.

The FDA has approved Journavx (suzetrigine) @vertexpharma.bsky.social, a first-in-class non-opioid analgesic to treat moderate to severe acute pain. This new class of non-opioid pain medicine inhibits NaV.1.8 channels in peripheral nerves, reducing risk for addiction. www.fda.gov/news-events/...
