Just waking up to the news that JT Miller is back at #NYR. In the end, the price wasn’t too bad. There are legitimate concerns over Chytil’s health and as much as I was impressed by Mancini, the two new dmen are better at this stage. Plus there is Fortescue and Emery on the way.

So in 0-0 #NHL game after OT, do both goalies get credited with a Shutout, or is it only the SO winner?

The #NYRangers have played better at 5-5 recently, maybe since Christmas? The special teams have let them down. They’ve needed a low penalty game against a poor opponent to build confidence.

Wyatt Kaizer is the only skater for #Blackhawks who hasn’t been on the ice for a #NYRangers goal.

Rangers get one on the board, they’ve had the edge in SoG and SA, so I guess they were due to strike through eventually. Both teams aren’t good however

That’s a second too many penalty and it was so obvious what was going to happen. Why not wait 1 more second?

I’ve gone through the whole 7 levels of grief over the news that Trouba has played his last game for #nyrangers. He was warned in summer that his play didn’t match his contract. It’s hard to argue that anything has changed in 24 games, so Drury has to act. Trouba got a 2nd chance, didn’t take it.

Negatives: Rangers are terrible at hockey and need to pay Shesterkin whatever his agent asks for.

My positives from the latest defeat for #nyrangers
Dave Maloney is really good during the period break, less “statty” than Valliquette, but generally more positive compared to Vally’s negative stats (although this may be because Rangers aren’t playing well)
I loved Berard’s game.
Shesterkin is good.

That is perhaps the worst 1st period I’ve seen since David Quinn was behind the bench.
NYR were not ready to play, is that on the players or the coach. This looks like a team actively trying to get the coach sacked. Maybe that explains Drury’s threat to trade dissenters?

Two more or less identical goal off the rush, first Lindgren gets beat for pace and then Trouba turns the wrong way. Both Dmen need to be playing elsewhere
