Lawrence changed my mind. IMO Senate Dems didn’t trust the Roberts court to decide SNAP wrt if DJT has the power to withhold funds. It went to the House where Jeffries, Raskin, and Murphy were ready to receive it, intercepting DJT’s ask for a Hail Mary pass.

Pardon to either protect co-conspirators or to obstruct an investigation into a Presidents’ illegal acts, are the exact types of “self-dealing” the Checks and Balances were designed to curb.
Thus my conclusion that a Pardon issued by a President to a co-conspirator would be found as Void by a Court.

100% agree, but think they’ll try. An honest court wouldn’t take it up. An honest court would’ve let Colorado’s 14A decision stand keeping DJT off ballots. IDT Senate Dems trust Roberts either. The move to reopen govt and pivot to the House came soon after DJT asked Roberts to decide SNAP. Big risk.
