I'm starting to realize that you people trading parodies of what you think I believe is me saying those things, which is fucking idiotic.
September 17, 2025 at 4:06 AM
I'm reclaiming it.
September 17, 2025 at 4:01 AM
because the previous answer is sufficient and the reply was no ruder than the question.

can you boil this down more for me
September 17, 2025 at 3:58 AM
barbarism?
September 17, 2025 at 3:57 AM
no
September 17, 2025 at 3:56 AM
you communists sure do like the multi-reply, huh.
September 17, 2025 at 3:56 AM
the prognosis.

anyone can be wrong in an original way. being right tends to hem in the imagination.
September 17, 2025 at 2:40 AM
I don't think you people wonder about anything based on what I've been reading.
September 17, 2025 at 2:36 AM
if I'd rather get stabbed than shot, is that a ringing endorsement of getting stabbed?
September 17, 2025 at 2:29 AM
I'm getting different numbers based on World Bank figures, but they aren't tracked as a group as far as I can tell.

regardless, for a good a/b test between communism and liberal democracy I'd just go with East vs. West Germany.
September 17, 2025 at 2:07 AM
I do care about what's best for most people and I'm in favor of liberal governments that support that. I include the Scandinavian countries in that group.

you want to call that a victory for "communism," fine, just so long as Stalinism and Maoism stay dead.
September 17, 2025 at 1:10 AM
if you're moving the goalposts to include mixed economies like Sweden and Denmark then why is the initial choice "communism or fascism?"

because if the choice is "fascism or Denmark," then of course everyone picks Denmark! the only reason anyone would hesitate is if you _don't_ mean Denmark!
September 17, 2025 at 12:53 AM
there are no communist countries in northern Europe. if you have private ownership of the means of production, you're not a communist country.

I know people play fast and loose with the "socialist" charge to describe state welfare programs, but I am not one of them.
September 17, 2025 at 12:48 AM
it's not the egg breaking I'm critiquing here, it's the complete inability to show anything for it. where's the omelette.
September 17, 2025 at 12:21 AM
that wasn't me.
September 16, 2025 at 11:58 PM
yes, it's quite large. it's 23 out of every 10,000 people. that's bad and we should do more about it.

there are 2,132,856 households with a net worth about $10 million in the United States. the median household net worth is about $200,000 per the Federal Reserve.
September 16, 2025 at 11:58 PM
I'm open to a quantitative argument that communism has produced an omelette out of so many broken eggs, but so far no one has presented one. I think it's either because communism has underperformed relative to other authoritarian shitholes or because communists can't do math.
September 16, 2025 at 11:47 PM
for 2023 there were 43 times as many people living in households with a net worth exceeding $1 million than there were homeless people.
