Reporter: “Are you concerned….”

No matter what she said after that the answer is a solid non. Trumpers aren’t concerned about anything. Ever. Except DEI hires and people with pronouns.

I don’t understand why they haven’t yet.
April 7, 2025 at 4:18 AM
Agreed!
April 3, 2025 at 11:20 AM
Fucking embarrassing.
March 31, 2025 at 11:21 PM
Awesome! Now if someone can just convince RFK Jr. that science actually works then we’ll be able to have nice things.
March 31, 2025 at 11:20 PM
Trump is worse. Of course. But I don’t live in a binary world. And the fact that the left has been focusing on first world bullshit that doesn’t help anyone did indeed push some, (I said SOME) low information voters towards MAGA.

I might be wrong. So might you be.

Then what’s YOUR answer? How do we house the homeless? How do get broadband for everyone? High speed rail? Clean energy? Real universal healthcare?

Trump sucks.
The far left sucks.
And yes, classic neoliberalism sucked too.

Ezra seems to actually want to make it better. We should listen.
March 30, 2025 at 9:10 PM
Okay. I’m a classic progressive. But 60, so I’m one of those “stop with the race & gender talk” people. (Just being honest). Always vote Dem.

I’m also a social democrat by nature and kinda hate unfettered capitalism.

But is Ezra wrong about housing & red tape and failed broadband plans? Tell me!
March 30, 2025 at 9:06 PM
I think we need a hire minimum wage AND better housing and transporting on. I do think it’s an either or.
March 29, 2025 at 11:20 PM
Same problem in Florida. But there has to be a balance where building rules can be simplified and streamlined while keeping both incentives and some subsidies for affordable housing but without all the red tape. No?
March 29, 2025 at 11:19 PM
My wife is in real estate in NY. We’re both Democrats. But Ezra said the voucher program indeed raises rents. She explained why in detail.

Some de-regulation of rent controls ALONG WITH incentives to build more can’t hurt. Combine this with some good progressive carve outs for affordable units.
March 29, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Biden was performatively too far left on gender / race issues. (Which Democrats should ignore in my opinion).

Indeed on major stuff he was status centrist. Kamala too.

But the fact that over regulation creates bad incentives for affordable housing is kinda undeniable.
March 29, 2025 at 4:35 PM
Go on. Is Ezra wrong that well meaning bureaucratic plans often stifle progress?

The flip side obviously wrong too. Look at Florida. Only affordable for tourists and the uber rich.

There’s gotta be a balance. Neither extreme helps people.

The homeless need homes. Free market or not.
March 29, 2025 at 4:33 PM
But Ezra Klein’s point is that well meaning plans for housing and infrastructure often get bogged down by red tape and well meaning over regulation.

While right wing states end up with an abundance of luxury and tourist housing.

We need balance. No?
March 29, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Good counter argument. As a middle child it seems we need SOME deregulation while keeping OTHER regulations. So that it’s not all just luxury housing.

Balance. No?
March 29, 2025 at 4:26 PM
If you’re so sure about it why only say it once? What if Ezra’s plan works and that becomes the democratic platform? But you still feel it’s wrong. Are you not gonna say it?

Transparency - I’m on the fence. But building more homes might help the homeless. No?
March 29, 2025 at 4:22 PM
I’m on the fence about it. Never was a Ezra fan but is he wrong that the solution to homelessness is more homes?
