Congrats to PhD student Bevan Whitehead, who has been awarded the DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Fellowship! Bevan will spend time at ORNL studying MOF dynamics using neutron vibrational spectroscopy in collaboration with Dr. Murillo Longo Martins. @urochester.bsky.social

A bittersweet time in the group. Paul Yoon completed his fifth-year MS degree, while Marina Zapesochny and Miranda Stewart graduated with their BS degrees. Marina and Miranda are respectively headed for Cornell and UMN to pursue their Chemistry PhDs. We'll miss all of you and wish you the best!

Excited to welcome Morgan Hern to the group as a new PhD student! Morgan is originally from Mooresville, NC and graduated from Appalachian State University earlier this year. We can't wait to see what you accomplish!

It's a great day for #MyFirstChemSci! In our new paper led by grad student Bevan Whitehead, we show that a fluorophilic Zn-based metal–organic framework shows a very large selectivity for CF4 adsorption over N2... just not in the way we thought it might.
