So totally and utterly grateful to Dr Jonas Salk for his commitment and diligence in creating a vaccine against Polio Myelitis.
My father survived but with an atrophied left leg at the age of 18 months old. I caught it when 7 years old but thanks to our NHS eventually resumed a healthy life.
