it's both the voters and the candidate. but the candidate holds a hell of lot more culpability, so i don't know why it's only her that people jump up to defend. kamala thought she could win without budging on genocide. that was cruel and stupid. voters just weren't jaded and ruthless enough.

moderates have convinced themselves that biden/kamala didn't totally shit the bed and ruin our lives, and that the genocide we watched them assist for a year wasn't a deciding factor. kamala will likely run in 2028 like this never happened, and if she wins the primary, we'll all go down with her.

if it's always the voters' fault because "they should've known how important it was to stop trump", then candidates are never responsible for losing, as long as they were a slightly better choice than fascism. almost like the dems care more about avoiding consequences than preventing fascism
