My body is stretched and deflated and I sometimes feel as though it's falling apart. I wasted so much of my youth hiding from my truth that I feel like I squandered a gift and now it's too late.

This monologue resonated with me when I read the book and when I saw the film. It resonates even more now that I am 52 and feel like the days of men finding me attractive are behind me. I have gained weight... lost weight... gained more... lost some.

I see things so vividly in my mind. I also hear in my mind which is why I read so slowly. I actually read out loud but in my head.
