Weird example, but having moved to the northeast and then midwest, I’m always shocked at the aversion to turning on the AC or heat before some arbitrary date just to save a few bucks (by people who could absolutely afford it)

This describes my own experiences better than I ever have: I changed jobs because I was growing tired of only ever being able to do better versions of the same old wrong thing. The best I could do was “lipstick on a pig” planning

It's a problem that even the newest draft MMUCC still uses "dart/dash" to categorize "non-motorist entering from off the roadway"
(And non-motorist is just a car-centric word for person)
