I am not one for putting myself in the spotlight, but it goes to show that no matter how introverted you are, change is possible. And that human rights do actually start in small places, close to home.

Challenging the system is hard and has caused us a lot of damage. But I persisted and I am hopeful that with continued work, nobody will ever go through the hell we have.

It’s taken me quite a long time to understand what section 28 did to a generation of kids. When I look back, if it hadn’t been for Channel 4 and BBC 2 I probably wouldn’t have even known gay people existed.

I just discovered Alexis Hall and I’m very quickly working my way through! Not usually one for romance novels, but I loved Boyfriend Material. I do have to read the North Woods for book club next week, if I can drag myself away
