Hi Alex,
Would it be possible to be added to this list? Thank you.

Dana this is great! Have you considered presenting at a Moodle Moot? You should. I think many would find this valuable (I’m a big fan of the Mountain Moot). Templates are crucial in breaking down navigational and organization barriers in online classrooms!

Oh no! That is so frustrating. It should not be slow, that is a configuration and server issue (not specific to Moodle).

Def need a use policy. I find AI helpful for generating alt text, giving me alternate versions of quiz questions, helping me to find more up to date articles to replace those that are old, and for rewording my bio or intro.

Yes you can! The Open AI question generator will create questions and put them directly into your question bank. Here is the plugin #moodle moodle.org/plugins/bloc...
Moodle Plugins directory: OpenAI Question Generator
This plugin allows a user to submit a paragraph of text and automatically generate Moodle questions based on the text, using OpenAI's GPT API.

What do you hate about it? Asking bc I love it and it’s development community driven so lots of teachers have input. Would love to know more!

Yes. That’s a common issue. The one I’m talking about moves content out of Canvas and into Moodle :)

Sentiments like this are causing schools to move back to Moodle, thankfully there is now a course migration tool so faculty don’t have to rebuild everything from scratch, again.

We could have had 4 years of economic growth, soft landings and inflation control, global respect, healthcare AND caramel popcorn.

Instead we got the couch-fucker, the felon, and the unelected president.

70 million sick, sick, sick, stupid reasons why we can’t have nice things 😑

Set simple weighted as the aggregation type in gradebook setup on the gradebook page. You may need to exclude empty category by category but might be able to do it at the course level. This article has images to show how: moodle.grok.lsu.edu/Article.aspx...

It’s on Moodle is the new “It’s in the syllabus”.

That makes sense to me. I wouid find maths more difficult to grade electronically than on paper no matter the electronic system.
December 18, 2024 at 1:12 PM
Having graded both paper and electronic, I find marking with the marking guide or rubric in Moodle to be easy and more consistent, it’s also easier for me to spot potential inter-rater reliability issues and I can blind grade which improves grader reliability and reduced bias.

Not really tips on moving from Moodle to Canvas but tips to make sure you are getting the full story.

Check data integrity. Ask how students with accommodations are managed in the system and who can see that they have accommodation, evaluate the ability to differentiate material and assessments, is there a centralized place for a student to see all upcoming work rather than going to each syllabus
