My take. Lando should have boxed first for clear air & Oscar stay out. Then when red bull cover Lando, bring Oscar in at the same time. Because of how the teams are in the pit lane, there's a chance Oscar's car would hold Max in his box or there's an unsafe release. Either way, Lando would be ahead.

Did everything right. Regardless of the fact the car isn't as good as McLaren, if he gets track position at a circuit like this, it's going to be tough to beat him.
