Native Wild Hyacinth with Long-Beaked Sedge near bottom of a west facing slope. I noticed I should pull out the monarda so it won’t crowd out. This group is finally expanding after protection done years from rabbits/deer.

This week I found 5 White Oak #galls on a young oak we planted in 2015. This was the first time I noticed these type galls.

Squirrels have been busy, many asters (#Aster oolentangiense here)still in bloom & lots of native seed has been collected. There have been hundreds of migratory birds going through this week, millions passing through Illinois. #phenology
