Just finished a blog on using colour theory in data visualisation.

I've seen a lot on accessibility, use of colour for categorisation, divergence etc. but I think this plugs a gap.

Colour theory in data visualisation - barbellchart
I’ll take you through a basic explanation of colour theory, how it can be applied to data visualisation, and how you can use it to build an effective colour palette of your own.

~ #datafam FEEDBACK REQUEST~

Leaping WAY out of my comfort zone here, into a world of CRINGE!

Building a website for my portfolio and some (yikes) tutorials. First attempt linked below.

Help me get better at this?

Thx!

Finally had a legit business use for a Sankey chart. Fun (albeit time-cosuming!) to build in Tableau.

This week's Workout Wednesday technical challenge. I found this tough - MUCH prefer prepping data in SQL to trying to model it in Tableau. Felt like I was fighting poor data structure throughout, e.g. using MAKEDATE to get months for the line chart. Just felt... wrong.

This week's Makeover Monday... showing why I can't improve on the original pie/bar combo. Pew Research nailed it: elegant simplicity, low cognitive load, high read accuracy.

Example sales & margin dashboard using Tableau's "Superstore" dataset.
Yes, there's an alligator in the info overlays.
No, you can't "have it in Excel".

This week's Workout Wednesday challenge (Tableau). I always limit myself to 1hr... didn't hit the criteria for labels - no idea why INDEX()=1 doesn't work for the inverted sort on goals against but, hey, I'll check out Donna's solution when it lands!
