This being said. I also perceived that Americans, and especially Trump supporters, are misunderstanding the reactions of Europeans as purely anti-Trump. The feeling of betrayal and anger is way deeper than that. And it will not heal just because Trump is gone.

It's interesting. I'm also back from a trip of several weeks in the US, mostly the northeast and Texas.

I would point out that I experienced the same point, that support for Trump is not weak and clearly more deep than what most Europeans would like to recognize.
