Not a cyclist, but gets around on a bike.

Now reluctantly involved in the Building Safety Crisis
Looking good. A friend in Servoz posted this from his morning's dog walk.

It's so ubiquitous that it took me 30 secs to find an example on StreetView; a parent and child endangered by selfish parking in the cycle lane.

When a retailer tells you they need parking spaces for fear of losing customers, they are lying. They want it for their own car.

QED: There is no way Ocean Catch has deliveries, parked all day, by a new Mercedes - on double yellows, blocked in by delivery scooters.

Perhaps the owner's car?

My GP's practice only accepts appointments via their online portal now.

And this is what it looks like.

Another bit of motoring road kill in the #RegentsPark

(And another illegal trade vehicle in the background)

Hi Ben, lovely to read 👍

Wishing Sabine all the best in her studies and travels.

She (you) might like to build the same portfolio adaptation I did for my daughter. Clips on like Ortlieb.

Better than carrying under one's arm - like I did in design college!

Only in Ireland.

The proposed upgrade to parallel for the Albany St one, from Redhill Street into Regent's Park, has been recommended for approval today.

I don't hold much hope for drivers complying with it - to be fair the sight lines are difficult, cycles *will* be 'coming out of nowhere'.

I am surprised.

Sabine is doing an art course, I wish I had her email address to share this.

When I did my design course decades ago, I cycled with an A1 portfolio under my left arm, right arm free for the down tube shifter.

For my daughter, I made this. Much safer.

It's the same in France. The real workhorse of farm life is the Citroën C15 van.

Some Dublin bus stop bypass action.

Brazilian stout, yes please

#DriverEntitlement

Bravo to this Christian (lots of crucifixes on display) driver who has selfishly blocked M&S's loading bay, delaying their driver, and subsequently blocking the entire car park.

Some drivers, eh?

Beautiful 16th century house....and car park.

Yippee, 3 new signal controlled crossings on the Outer Circle #RegentsPark.

Some funky details all right but what stands out for me is how bike builders of this vintage understood how mudguards work.

Spray is thrown as a tangent from the tyre surface. You can see the guard is just the right length to keep the rider's feet dry.

How have we forgotten this?
October 12, 2025 at 10:43 AM
Yes, those next steps too. Having to ride a bike in the park because there was nowhere else, then having to shepherd her amongst HGVs on her ride to school.

She is a teen now, has cycled to school every day, but won't use her bike for other trips on 'unknown' routes. Taxi service still needed.

Oh god yes. I nominate Eversholt Street.

Appalling road surface (and has been for the last 30 years), narrow, full of PHVs making illegal stops for Euston, packed with buses and LGVs sprinting from Euston Rd to Camden - and no #Space4Cycling.

I believe filtering is the answer, it is a residential road after all but a temporary solution the residents wouldn't like would be to get rid of parking.

Camden Council replaced the flat coping stones on these planters with the shaped ones shown on the pic because people were sitting on them.
