yeah, I get that- I started to think about this a bit ago too

I love how extra lives in games were never in mind for movie adaptations of them, but theorizing how they'd work regardless is kinda fun lol

as for what happens when they die, I'm not entirely sure- maybe if you took too long to give someone a 1up they'd eventually die out maybe, it all really depends on how they get into the state of being near-death too, so stuff like lava would be instant, and there would be no way to do anything

I'm thinking it may be in the case of how they work in the mario and luigi rpgs, so they'd be able to revive someone but not at their full strength and all that if that makes sense
