Ok, so now that it's official and all....
Here's what's going on. Back in October, I took a chance and took a temp position with the possibility that I'd get hired in either in the team I was assigned to or another team.

The Lord Giveth and the Lord taketh away.

Just not used to him doing both in the span of 45 minutes.

So wound up fighting 8 or 9 cultists at Miskatonic (Go Pods!). My one researcher is at the office regaining her sanity, while the poor private detective (who is now less prone to making critical shots)

Today's best Sanity Check/Easter Egg

(Playing Arkham Horror: Mother's Embrace since it was like $5 on Steam.)

One of my coworkers asked me if I was autistic the other day, I think because I use my wedding ring as a fidget spinner. While I own up to being neurospicy, or on the spectrum, I don't think I qualify for a full diagnosis or even the lighter Aspeger's diagnosis.

So, after 3 weeks of training, we're finally ready for the floor show.

This predates the show by 5ish years, but I swear it looks like a poster for Three's Company with Mrs. Roper being really dowdy.

Pretty sure we're going to find out the 7 year Harvest Lord gets sacrificed at Harvest Home to ensure good crops, but we're not there yet.

Currently reading Thomas Tryon's 1972 Harvest Home. Avoiding spoilers as much as possible, but getting Shirley Jackson's The Lottery vibes, along with Children of the Corn, The Wicker Man, and a hint of Lovecraft.

Once she got over her shock, she did laugh, but my understanding is the bag got passed around the family females every Birthday and Christmas, although it came back to me after she died. It now makes a convenient and fun Magic deck transport that doubles as a conversation piece.

So, while I have other things on my mind, I keep finding myself wanting to tell the tale of this particular gift bag.

Christmas of 1995, I lived in Fairborn, mom was aware I was gay, so I bought this gift bag at Meijer's on Col Glenn to wrap her present in.

Totes unrelated to everything else, Through the Omenpaths (aka the Magic set where they refaced the Spider-Man cards to avoid having to pay again) has made it so I can run TWO different and equally fun Spider decks. Although I lowkey want some Spider-Man branded cards so he can fight with Shelob.

So, had an interview today. While I don't know that I want the position, it would be nice to get a full 40 hours and no weekends.

So I finished Laymon's novella Out Are the Lights today. While I'll finish the included short stories before typing up a full review, I just wanted to say 49 year old James agrees with 14 year old James that it was really kind of dumb.

3/ and nonrefundable. Not that Im not looking forward to exploring NOLA, but I find myself second guessing my own poor decision making. Being stuck in my feels this week is not helping with this.

2/ One is the Chess revival at the Imperial (which hosted Les Mis and Great Comet), and the Phantom reimagining, Masquerade at an art warehouse. (Basically, small groups going through get up close and personal and interactive with the plot.)

Problem being, New Orleans is already booked (cont.)

This is likely going to be a few posts and filled with first world white boy problems.

Here's the sitch. I turn 50 in a month and 20 days. I planned a trip to New Orleans to celebrate.

Problem being there's two shows opening in NYC on/around my birthday that I'd love to see. (Cont.)

So, a few things.

1) Found out my husband is on here, mainly so he can look at porn friends of ours create.

2) While my sympathy lies with the folks shot during church in Michigan, I've been exposed to so much Evangelical bullshit over time (continued)
