Friday the wonderful Salty Sirens are back for a swell time, this time celebrating the solstice with instrumental folk maestro Sue Ferrers and her band, if you want to know what the instrument on the poster is, it's a nykelharpa and you'll have to come to the show to hear it! **THIS WEEK AT BANSHEES** WE'RE CHANGING OUR OPENING HOURS! As of this week we are open from 6pm Wed-Thu or earlier by appointment. If you want to have an after work do or an afternoon gathering hit us up at bansheesbar@gmail.com and we can sort you out! Wednesday Open Mic starts at 6, and you can load in from 5:30! Thursday doors open at 6 and Karaoke kicks off at 8! Friday night we have a gorgeous evening of folk and songwriting with local favourites The Emmavilles and friends Julia Bates Music and Adam Campbell! Tickets are $10 presale or $15 at the venue! And then Saturday we're having our first Survive/Thrive show! This will be a series of shows with bands who have volunteered their time to raise funds for the venue! Come pay what you want at the door, buy some raffle tickets and support Banshees! No presale tickets, doors open at 4 for Above the Bar Life Drawing, then from 5 we have STAN (solo), Orlando furious. Thursday we're looking forward to welcoming Alexis back for Banshee Karaoke with Alexis Diamond! Come party with the gem of Banshees from 8pm, doors open at 5! Friday night our favourite acoustic guitar wielding maniacs are back in the building, and they've insisted that they're going to donate half of their ticket sales to the venue, so you'd better come cos I want to pay them properly! Our favourites are of course Zeus! James Diamond and Isaac Elsley are absolute legends on the scene, James' previous ensemble Cadence have played at Banshees a dozen times, including as the first night of Al and Tim's ownership of the bar, so it just makes sense to have him back for the first show of our third year of publicanship. **THIS WEEK AT BANSHEES** It's a non stop party Wednesday through Saturday as we head towards Al and Tim's 3rd Bar-iversary! We took over from the original legends Nina and Ken on April 1 2022 and oh my how the time has flown! Come celebrate with us? Wednesday it's Open Mic from 7, come hang out with our community vibes open mic night! Doors open at 5, chat with Tim at the bar to get your spot on the stage! Thursday it's Karaoke from 8, doors open at 5 to get you out of the weather. Friday night we're celebrating the launch of Damien J Johnson's new single One Hill Town! Damien J. Johnson will be performing this show with a full band for the first time, and will also be joined by the award winning Lucy Korts, who recently released their latest single, 'Stronger' and Transmissions From The Water Tower. Tickets are $15 online or at the venue, doors open at 7. Then Saturday night we have our second ever Disgruntled Variety Show! Punkaret last year was a hoot, and this year we're stepping it up a notch and celebrating our third anniversary of taking on the Banshee with traveling Japanese punks BUDDHADATTA, local darkwave legend DAMIEN, the hilarious Biggie Nixz and of course our hosts the Disgruntled Taxpayers!
