I don't know ANYONE who's had an aquarium and not had some similar story. One of my friends had an aquatic plant handed down to him from his dad, who got it from his grandfather. He thought it would be great in a tank, lots of vegetarians in said tank.
Thankfully, his dad had split it a few times :D

Some are, I've already begun reporting for community violations.

Pom Pom crab was probably one of my fav things to have in the tank though!
