We also need triggers to encourage charging when renewables are in excessive supply during daylight hours. I expect there is a percentage of no-inertia supplies where a utility would welcome that switchable load addition.

I'm surprised the system didn't lose stability with this loss of load event. Need a solution for this too.

Engineer in me says all of US is on Greenwich Mean Time. Simplifies lots of systems and reduces time errors. But it wouldn't be accepted because the reference line isn't in 'merica.

Hopefully the utility financial risk is fully encumbered on the data center developers along with a requirement the developers provide all required right of ways and EPC commitment expenses. That way, if/when things go sideways, there's little impact on other customers.

Agree BAD. They'll be regulated under industrial boiler rules which can be less stringent. They'll advertise as utilizing 'scraps' from harvesting but it's really whole trees. www.envivabiomass.com/facility/way...

My heat pump water heater was quite adequate and dehumidified the garage which was a bonus. Failed at eight years because I couldn't buy one of the tiny fans it needed. The fan had an internal device to sense zero motion or I could have used any fan.
