4/ We ask any beaver allies in those areas to contact the #NYSDEC to lodge your complaints. Beavers create and maintain habitat for scores of other wildlife species--they recharge ground water, and their dams act like filtration systems to purify water, which also benefits wildlife and people. 🦫

3/ However, according to the experts at "Beavers: Wetlands & Wildlife" (www.beaversww.org), the #DEC knows perfectly well how to utilize water flow devices to mitigate beaver flooding issues-if such issues truly exist in those areas. 🦫

2/ The reason: Increased beaver populations causing damage to roads, trails, and other features of these public lands, making things more challenging to manage water levels on area ponds, marshes, and other water impoundments. 🦫
