The Venezuelan claim is laughable. And even Venezuela knows it. They made the claim and then everyone laughed and they shut up. There are well established procedures for settling the issue in the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. See the recent Ghana-Cote d’Ivoire case as an example.
