I'd rather be gardening.
My aunt lived in Arizona and often visited our camp (cottage) in the Near North for the opening weekend in May. She was always the first person in the northern lake, soon after the ice went out. She would swim for as long as it took to "get the Arizona heat" out of her body.

We had a frost warning last night in southern Ontario Canada. Hot weather is coming but today was perfect. Maybe it's because I'm Canadian, but I like it cold better than hot. When it's cold you can add layers galore til you're comfy. When it's hot, you can get naked and still be much too hot.

Michael Chong. He frequently stays seated and not clapping like a seal when PP is raving in the HoC. He is more like the old style Conservative, with a measured speaking style even when angry, as he was about Chinese threats to his family.

If I were an Albertan, I'd start a citizens'petition to hold a provincial election and work hard to overturn Smith's government. Isn't the NDP leader still waiting for Smith to allow a by-election?

Lofty goals.

Time to see if any Red Cons are interested in crossing the floor.

Maybe when there is little hope that saving money will result in achieving a financial goal, living in the present and spending money on oneself is a coping mechanism that helps make life enjoyable. I try not to judge my grandkids when they spend more than they save. They have different priorities.

My mom chose MAID after hearing she would be bedbound for the rest of her days, already numbered by kidney failure. Her choice to end her suffering was not supported by her daughters. We asked her to reconsider. She told us, "This is about me, not you." Her choice, her decision, our acceptance.

3 in 4 think otherwise. A much better take on the situation.

My dad would take pleasure in buying what he called "shiners," which were tin cans of food with no labels that sold for pennies. We'd have a surprise bargain supper every once in a while, just for fun. Pears and baked beans? Yummy.

I'm a boomer grandmother with 6 grandkids ages 3, 7, 11, 19, 22 and 25 years old. I'm sick of hearing that Boomers had it so good that they don't care about younger generations. To anyone who has ever loved a young person and felt the huge responsibility of caring for them, vote Liberal.

We all live in a CANADA that was built by the Liberal party in spite of the Conservatives.

The PCs have only used their time to dismantle the country that was built for every Canadian.

Unfortunately the youth and much of Gen Z didn't experience enough of that history. Educate them!

Just sayin'

We have so much managed forest here in Canada that it is a crime against nature and the environment to fell American park forests just to try to hurt my country's economy. It is insane.

Canadians never said no more lumber. USA has always tariffed Cdn softwood lumber, because lots of it comes from Crown Land (not privately owned land) and that creates an unfair advantage to its sales price, which is actually a proper way to assess tariffs to level the playing field.

I don't know anyone who was working into old age who doesn't need the job fir income. But your point is valid about more opportunities being needed for younger drivers. I was low seniority too, and didn't get many charters, which is where the drivers made the most money.

I drove a school bus for a few years post retirement. Driver training and assessments were ongoing & very strict. They even reviewed the drivers' personal driving records with zero tolerance for traffic violations. The job was very demanding, but all drivers that passed the scrutiny should be okay.

If candidates recuse themselves from local riding debates, they should be replaced by AI avatars that can answer questions about their party's policies. The AI candidate might offer voters a fact checked representation, an improvement over the live version.

Carney writes about his admiration of Macron in his book Value(s). He quoted the tag line of a Macron speech about France's plan to take action on climate change. "We have no Plan B, because we have no Planet B."

Time to find your postage stamps and send complaints by snail mail. It's a lot harder to ignore or block.

It was done in the past to build military supplies for WWII. More recently, I recall several companies (not sure which sector) retooling to build respirators, which were in short supply during COVID-19. Flexibility is possible with enough skilled workers, financial support and good leadership.

With many years of experience working at polling stations, it has been eye-opening to assist so many voters who complained that their ballot did't have the name of the party leader on it. My opinion is that many non-voters just don't know (or care) enough about the issues to have an opinion.
