When promoting a concert, put the ticket link in the comments or your bio. Then write in the post "link in comments." The social media algorithms already prevent your posts from being seen by most of your followers. If you put a link in your post, the algorithms will hide it from even more people.

For clients I also spend time on the social media sites reporting and blocking fake band member accounts. They are created by scammers to prey on unsuspecting people. Look after your fans, because the social media sites do not.

Many artists make generic content that tries to appeal to everyone. Or they jump on trends that have nothing to do with music.

What band did you buy multiple albums from? What would you want to see or read about from that band?

Take that approach with your own content.

Have I checked out an artist’s music because of an interview I read with them? Yes. Many times.
Have I checked out an artist’s music because they posted photos or video of their dinner? Never.

Kim Wilson of The Fabulous Thunderbirds (clients): When selecting which take to use on an album, you go by energy, you go by the soul of it, you go by the emotion of it, you go by the oddness of it. There might be a little melodic thing that you did in there that catches your ear.
