My Transition Co-chair Lina Khan and First Deputy Mayor Dean Fuleihan joined Starbucks workers on the picket line today because making NYC affordable means an end to unfair labor practices and a living wage for our workers. We are their partners in the fight to live in this city with dignity.

In the richest city on Earth, 40% of NYC families can’t afford weekly food costs, and food prices are up 33% over the past decade.

It’s time for a city government that puts affordability at the top of the agenda.

The Trump administration continues to find new ways to raise costs on all of us. It’s time we have a City Hall that works relentlessly to ease the burden.

We will deliver on fast and free buses, universal childcare and a rent freeze because New Yorkers need the relief.

You can’t be a public servant if you don’t serve the public.

Today at POTS Bronx, we saw how New Yorkers show up for each other. It’s time that city government shows up for them too.

Meet our Transition Co-chairs: Grace Bonilla, Lina Khan, Maria Torres-Springer and Melanie Hartzog.

Each is a remarkable, innovative and principled leader with a deep commitment to public service. It’s an honor to have them on our team that will deliver our affordability agenda.

“Two weeks after the election the incoming administration is making no attempt to downplay expectations, if anything they are doubling down on them.”

Recently there's been a coordinated effort by some to talk down London, because it suits their political agenda. The truth must hurt for them - because London has once again been crowned the greatest city in the world.

If, like me, you love London, then my message is this:
London proves progressive cities work. No wonder some politicians hate that, writes Sadiq Khan | LBC
We must stand up and defend our liberal, progressive, caring capital
