just watched the apprentice & liked it a lot more than I would've expected and it's all down to Sebastian Stan's performance (Strong & Bakalova also great). but what a year he's having... also watched A Different Man earlier this week - scratched my Charlie Kaufman itch, one of my favs of the year

Red Rooms, what a movie. I can't recommend it highly enough, and go into it without knowing absolutely anything about it like I did. ideal 3am viewing

Ya this still rips. Such a ridiculous cast, I barely felt the time. Michael Mann also made a surprise appearance pre screening at #RedSeaFilmFestival ( I wasn't aware the cafe where Pacino/De Niro meet is the same one from Thief)

Also Amy Brenneman with the most devastating face in all of cinema

still obsessed with Delphine Seyrig's line delivery in this scene - "the light hurts my eyes." - one of the all time great vampire portrayals, also sumptuous production design throughout

Most recent addition to my physical media collection, #JackieBrown soundtrack CD (already had the vinyl)

also one of my favorite tunes on there, Natural High by Bloodstone (has the most euphoric outro ever & its not available on streaming, neither are the interludes)

just watched Gladiator II, it's just fine. Denzel Washington (unsurprisingly) comes out unscathed. thought Paul Mescal was miscast

#Anora is great, not my fav Sean Baker by any stretch ... still goes to Red Rocket and Tangerine. But this was above all hilarious, the Armenian henchmen had me in stitches. Mikey Madison is excellent, but the big surpriseis Yura Borisov who plays Igor so pitch perfect that it makes the movie work.

I rewatched Paris, Texas (in newly restored 4K) at the incredible Cinema Modernissimo of Cineteca di Bologna. I hadn't seen it in a very long time... it really just washes over you. It made me emotional by the end. A perfect, crushing film. Robby Müller's cinematography god-tier
