I am hopeful that things change, but the societal climate doesn't give a positive reality. I used to, but currently, I do not recommend people seeking calls to any synod in PA.

I was in LSS from 1995 to March 2023. I saw the changes. I saw the movement from BIPOC involvement as nonmonolithic to a more stereotypical expectation within the area. As racial tensions grew and change of leadership and their actions (ie. the current bishop relations with seminary)created a chasm.

It has gotten worse over the years. You had more on committees and parishes. The process hurts the ecclesiastical nature of voting. I was surprised with such disadvantage, I received enough votes to enter 3 round with a few votes short in making 4th.

From my experience, that is not accurate. The top candidate was not on the trajectory last time. Last election was a statement against the current bp, an evaluation of their first term. Although #1 placed 2 last time, it was more of a statement hoping the 2nd term would change.

I honestly do not think most felt that a qualified non cis gendered person or BIPOC would be taken seriously in that synod for bishop. We have to be honest about it.

I used to be in that synod. The pre qualified candidate puts a disadvantage on ones nominated in the ecclesiastical 1st ballot That happened to me. All information is rushed. I do not think that area is serious about equality. The current bishop says the right things but actions are vexing.
