Should help Mamdani, with both Cuomo and the current guy pulling votes from each other, no?

When you call folks stupid, you lose elections. That's the point I'm trying to make. If we stick to our corners and don't talk to people about topics that affect them (even if we think they're intellectually inferior or misinformed), there isn't even a chance we can reason with folks on the fence.

The other extreme, as in being all about identity politics, when the reds were shoving fear about the economy and immigration down people's throats. While, the podcast bros (with Russian $) were chatting business, crypto, and AI, and winning over the male vote; we were convinced Kamala would win 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not coddling nazis. Lots of independents now who might have pinched their nose and voted. Even black and latino men voted for the orange man in more numbers than before. We risk repeating the same story again if we stay in our corners and they keep getting fed the same red-pilled BS.

I think we need to be careful not to turn this into an echo chamber of only the left. Twitter is a right-wing doom echo chamber. Bluesky can't become the other extreme.

We all fall into a trap if we stick to echo chambers. If we make the same mistakes as we did with Hillary and Kamala, and we disregard the angry rural/blue collar voter, and even some black and latino voters, we'll end up with the same results.

I'm the last person to support Republicans; but they vote too. MAGA captured some young voters - mostly males that listen to the right wing podcasts. All while the left split their vote between Jill Stein, RFK, and Kamala; just because Kamala refused to publicly denounce Israel (they also vote).

Dems barely had time to run a candidate, much less a campaign with a message other than "we're not going back". AOC and Bernie are great leftists, but the left alone can't win an election at this time. Remember, it's not about crowds in districts that are already blue. We need the rural vote too.
April 24, 2025 at 6:36 AM
Also Mark Kelly and Andy Beshear. Even some Republicans would vote for those guys.

I hate to say it, but unfortunately none of these would help us win. Not because they aren't capable leaders, but because of their baggage. We need more centrist folks like Wes Moore, Josh Shapiro, JB Pritzker, Tim Walz, or Gretchen Whitmer. Folks who would pull in Independents easily.
