Brophy ignores the obvious: this country was founded on the principle that we do not have to follow unjust laws, nor obey tyrannical rulers. People like him used to remind their fellow colonists they were British citizens subject to the King's laws.

You might want to remember that four of the seven House Dems who supported funding ICE pointed to 'reforms' added to the bill. They were, IIRC, funds for body cameras and more training.

If she isn't compelled to say what 'additional reforms' she supports, this is performance art.

The Poseidon did-- and that's more like what Weiss has done.

The remake is a clown show with an incoherent script (and Richard Gere's Irish accent), but it does have the greatest scene in cinematic history: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PguB...

1. You're not angry. People who are angry don't have to say they are.

2. Since your advice ain't working, how about if we don't give YOU what you want?

Him, Tom Friedman (myriad service people in other countries) and Chuck Boomer (Joe and Eileen Bailey.)

Also, Epstein BFF David Brooks once invented a salad bar at a chain restaurant.

Tom Friedman did it better with Iraq.

The movies have different strengths. Sim's version works hard at building a plausible backstory, and shows Scrooge's descent. The Scott version has Edward Woodward hammering at Scrooge with all the pungent language Dickens wrote for Ghost of Christmas Present-- but other versions censor.

Alastair Sim is wonderful, but he begins to fold as soon as Marley's Ghost lets out his first shriek. Scott is still negotiating with the spirits until he sees his name on the slab.

I'm sure any objections can be overcome if the merged company simply gives Donald Trump 20% of its stock.

Hegseth or Buttigieg?

What bothers me more is the writer's claim that she shouldn't be criticized, because she decided to play an enormously complex game and is winning. It's like Chuck Schumer insisting that folding is the key to starting a blue wave.

Gonna take a wild guess: The accompanying story was not nearly as nauseating as Jacob Bernstein's tongue-bath in the TIMES.

A good rule of thumb: anyone who can define the parameters of "Hebephilia" and "Ephebophilia"-- and can also tell you the age of consent in many states-- is not someone you want babysitting your child.

When I rewatched "Three Days of The Condor" after Redford died, two things made it unwatchable. Redford brutalizing Faye Dunaway sucked-- but when Redford tells Cliff Robertson he sent the details of the CIA's plot to the NYT, Pepsi flew out of my nose. Yeah, sure-- what good would that do?
November 13, 2025 at 8:52 AM
So you're quoting Jeb Bush-- and expecting to not be ratioed? Good luck with that.

The problem with the sentence is that an opinion columnist (and not a smart one at that) wrote it.

Problem two is that he's quoting an opinion piece masquerading as a study, and not mentioning that.

Problem three is that the majority of political reporters already believe it.

Someone needs to brush up on what the phrase "the consent of the governed" means. She might not be done, but voters seem to have their minds made up.

You're assuming the elites mean "spoil the election." They mean "spoil our fantasy of unchecked looting."

Bill "The Cat" Ackman and his droogs expect whatever they want whenever they want it. Being denied due to laws, norms, ethics or fairness strikes them as a miscarriage of justice.
