If you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it. That involves admitting you were wrong once in a while, and a little contrition. "challenging historical narratives and contemporary politics" or whatever tedious trite floats your whistle
Mostly refrained from commenting but quite giddy over 'efficiency' prior to the day. Did accurately predict Starmer polling would plummet, and did briefly note it was both incredibly impressive but very brittle. Not much reflection on the obvious issues.

Had some laundry to wait for.

Labour's proposals for broadband provision in 2019 were framed under the headline 'Broadband Communism' because that is how its opponents described it.

Yeah let's all be this articulate and erudite and then screech about explanations and reading comprehension

You'd never see this in real democracies like Britain of c- oh shit
November 19, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Got to love how much distance they try to put between themselves and the ship they helped build
November 14, 2025 at 1:33 PM
Not all John, im not trying to take your material away from you. Simply commenting on what your intent always seems to be and which polls you value.

But now I've got your attention, can you explain your argument that the British media does not shape public opinion? And if so what your job is?
November 11, 2025 at 2:06 PM
Even with the vote split by Cuomo (Blue no matter ME ME ME), he got over 300k more than Adams, or De Blasio, or Thompson, etc etc etc

Deeply weird little people

Where could political discourse in the UK have been poisoned I wonder
November 4, 2025 at 12:31 PM
You knew him personally after all. You knew better. You still do. I am amazed that you cannot hear the echo in your words of so many notable failures of judgement here. I knew them, and they were good to me.

Nearly a decade after Newsnight had to edit Corbyn into a MAGA hat, the beloved moderate centre left sensible Starmeristas just make them on their own for real

Ofc it's not 'Populism' when the managers do it

It is fascinating how Britain's journalists have all spontaneously decided to sell this.

Owen here knows that the very same survey shows support drops *massively* for a *Digital ID Card*, which is what the government is proposing. But he pretends not to. Why?
September 26, 2025 at 2:08 PM
And if you followed the Guardian's deputy political editor to understand British politics, you'd have no idea who Driver is or what she did in those years in opposition.

It's not healthy that British journalists think manipulation, dishonesty and corruption is ok for their lads.
September 25, 2025 at 2:20 PM
Well, blaming the media lives on in Labour doesn't it? Just a quick check to see whether Starmeristas blame the media for anything provides a lot of examples.

One rule for them eh? It's a shame people can't just grow up. Of course, cranks are never going to be bothered by hypocrisy.

I've just asked you a question, which you've now answered. What else is there for you to have 'no idea' about? Bizarre.

Corbyn's supporters seem to just acknowledge McSweeney and Labour Together, which is well documented, e.g. in the Telegraph. Bizarre thing to ignore. archive.ph/TSrpw

And so he was! Hilarious. 'I've muted you, jog on' undermined by going back to look at these posts 2 hours later and then blocking me for pointing out your utterly deranged beliefs about anti-war protests.

Weirdly, you deleted them from Twitter, but you argued very strongly at the time. Hilarious.

He should never have been appointed. He should never have been part of the Starmer project, but he's been involved since before the leadership contest.

The fact is this has been largely known for years. This was a liability, a compromise, a corruption in plain sight but undiscussed.
September 11, 2025 at 10:26 AM
It is however a bit bloody rich coming from you isn't it Gabriel?

They're not getting this off Twitter. They're getting this off you and your mates, and you've been pushing for it my entire adult life. This is not hard, it's just not very flattering to you.
September 10, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Stephen Bush complaining about people being unable to hear themselves? Seriously Steve. Do you not hear yourself? 'Anti-racism' is something you actually have to do, not something you are.

You helped Starmer 'save Labour' *from* anti-racism.

a whole new world awaits

These are great, on a burger, a cheese + ham sandwich or just straight into your mouth
September 4, 2025 at 11:52 AM
That's perfectly reasonable. But to be clear I didn't ask if *you* had.

I asked if you had ever made the same complaint about the use of 'communist' or 'hard left' or 'cultist' or "stalinist" as you are making about the use of 'fascist'? Perhaps to say, the tagged Paul Mason?

“The grownups are back in Westminster. The Tory psychodramas inside No 10 have been replaced by a serious Labour government focused on delivery.” - John Crace

Be fun if the industry that created this hype ever had a moment of self reflection.
September 2, 2025 at 1:16 PM
You post everything without comments on, because you're a hypocrite. You went after Sunak's wife.

It's not abuse of your family to notice that your husband, Dan Fox, was a director of Labour Friends of Israel. Who also list you as a supporter on their site.

You are judged by your work.
September 1, 2025 at 3:43 PM
lol looking at your first post this is even more fucking stupid, you think a pastrami bao is american cuisine dipshit
September 1, 2025 at 3:35 PM
@johnmct.bsky.social clearly doesn't think Labour needs to do anything right? Perhaps the Labour party - and the country - would be doing better if pompous fossils had expertise rather than just arrogance and nepotism,
