Former ballet dancer. Now ballet teacher and producer of music for ballet class
Ending the week with an adage—control, balance, and flow. The challenge is to stay steady while everything moves around you.

Now, into the weekend.

If you can’t handle frustration and move past failure, you won’t dance—simple as that. And not just for yourself. Being a dancer is a profession like any other. You have to manage your ego, your colleagues' egos, and those of choreographers and directors.

Get over yourself and get on with it.

Batement tendu isn’t just about where you place your foot—it’s about rhythm, energy, and intention. This track has a rebellious streak.

I could never teach ballet with just any pianist or recorded music that prioritizes a rigid, square structure. My class only works with an enthusiastic ballet pianist or carefully selected recordings from great composers.

This Argentinian Tango from the 30s–60s is filled with passion, drama, and rhythm—perfect for ballet class! The music carries the dancer through the exercise, allowing movement that is expressive yet controlled, making it ideal for fondus, grand battements or a pirouette.

I’m so lucky to work with Carlos every day. He’s not just an incredible ballet pianist, but a true musician first. His musical insights inspire me to give better classes, bringing depth to every step we teach #BalletClass #Collaboration #MusicalInspiration
