To mark the launch of the report, a roundtable discussion was held at Amnesty International's Tunisia Section. The event brought together survivors and families of victims from Tarhouna, Libyan human rights defenders, and members of the diplomatic community

These crimes were part of a systematic and large-scale attack against the civilian population of Tarhouna between 2015 and 2020, aimed at maintaining their control over the area.

The report finds reasonable grounds to believe that the al-Kaniat militia committed crimes against humanity—including murder, torture, enforced disappearance, and unlawful imprisonment.
