I personally believe the current primary election system is broken and dangerously undemocratic due to BIG MONEY buying elections. Ranked choice voting, when sensibly implemented, will save the Republic.

One big issue which was very interesting is that the Michigan Constitution requires support for "straight ticket" voting, which is directly in conflict with ranked choice, and not an issue in Alaska and Maine.

Operationally, there's a TON of room for improvement in making sure the Clerks can administer a new law with proper funding and oversight.

They have problems with the language of the ballot petition, which would make implementation difficult if not a nightmare, and underfunded. The concept of ranked choice voting is good. The proposal writers simply did a bad job and didn't work with the Clerks.

FIRST and most importantly, they are NOT "unanimously against" ranked choice voting. That is lazy journalism plus awful political spin by the haters.
