Habitually At Large.
True. I just hope that folks (especially the 31% that voted for this AND the 40% that stayed home) remember what this shut dm down was all about and who’s to blame when their premiums skyrocket and become unaffordable after the holidays. Dems better be crafting some amazing GD comms.

In the specific context of this week and this cowardly retreat/betrayal the opportunity would have been to take the momentum and energy from Tuesday’s elections and stay the course- then honing clever and compelling comms like Dan is prioritizing.

Im referring to 2024 and how the party smugly allowed Biden to run in the first place- despite his age, polling, alleged commitments to the democratic process. They missed an opportunity to assert some semblance of credibility by listening to the base and allowing new blood & ideas to be heard.

This is more than a messaging crisis Dan. This is a party devoid of purpose or direction; unable to recognize or seize an opportunity to lead with integrity and model the values of its base. Like when you & Pod Save mocked Dean Phillips for having the audacity to suggest an open primary last year.

Shaheen and Dick Durbin are both retiring next year. Little political capital to lose. Myopic and cowardly traitors. Time to retire may have been a decade ago.

Worse than insane: complete and utter cowardice and chaos. Zero ability to internally organize and even less self awareness.

Folks should be setting up voter registration drives at Food Banks, right now.

Fully 70% of the full electorate (all elegible voters) invited this by either voting for Project 2025 [31%](whether they knew it at the time or not) or by staying home and not voting [40%].

The fourth largest economy in the world. Must be nice!

Like other states though mine was in the red at the top of this year and things haven’t gotten better since the inauguration.

Seriously though, much love to CA for their decisive and compassionate leadership in these dark times.

Is anyone holding voter registration drives near food bank lines this month?

I wonder if anyone has data to suggest otherwise but if a line is anything like the electorate then 40% of those in it didn’t even vote in the general election last year.
