Agree with all this, but I'm so starved for sci-fi movies that I still enjoyed it somewhat. The fact that it doesn't take itself seriously saves it, but it's definitely no Parasite.

Kinda wonder if there's a parallel to be made with other media types to make this sound less bleak (but still very true), like isn't this how Music works? And even to a lesser extent series and movies?
