Ten years ago 'Winifred' ran for one season in her original Penrhyn Quarry paintwork.

Here she is seen at our Bala terminus as some point during 2015.

We're back in 2017 for #ThrowBackThursday this week. Here's a picture of visiting locomotive 'Fernilee' alongside resident 'Holy War'. 'Fernilee' now lives at Bressingham Steam & Gardens in Norfolk.

Here's a picture of 'Maid Marian' on a visit to the Bressingham Steam Museum in Norfolk celebrating 50 years since she entered preservation.

Bressingham was the first place that she operated after leaving the Dinorwic Quarry.

‪It’s Thursday again and here’s another picture from the Bala Lake Railway photo archive showing Kerr Stuart Wren class locomotive No. 3114 which resided at the railway back in the 1980’s.

She now lives at the Vale of Rheidol Railway in Aberystwyth.

It's that time of the week again

Here's another picture from our photo archive showing 'Meirionnydd' our first ever locomotive hauling a passenger train back in the 1970's

'Meirionnydd' was built by Severn-Lamb Ltd. and is still in use today mainly hauling works trains

The first ever visiting locomotive to the BLR was 'Peter Pan' who ran double-headed with 'Holy War' over the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend back in 1979.

We think this photo was taken on the Friday before the weekend when he/she had a test run.

For #ThrowbackThursday this week we’re going back over forty years to the summer of 1984 with a photo of both Kerr Stuart Wren class locomotive No. 3114 and quarry Hunslet ‘Maid Marian’.

‘Maid Marian’ is still on our line whilst the Wren now lives at the Vale of Rheidol Railway in Aberystwyth.

It's #ThrowbackThursday again and here is a picture of 'Helen Kathryn' in the workshop at Llanuwchllyn back in the 1970's.

Since leaving Bala she has resided at the Llanberis Lake Railway, the South Tynedale Railway, Threlkeld Quarry & Mining Museum and is now at the Lancashire Mining Museum.
