Today 3/4 of federal revenue goes in interest payments, which would further increase with increasing rates.

We could also consider decoupling housing assets from wealth. It is a basic human need. If we make it an investment vehicle, there will be speculation and artificial scarcity created. In Switzerland, the home ownership rate is just 36% and still highest density of millionaires.
