They're racist, they have internalized misogyny, they think whiteness will protect them, they're afraid their husbands will find out if they don't vote MAGA, they lied in exit polls so their husbands would think they voted MAGA, they're anti-choice, they're brainwashed, etc. But mostly racism.

People with disabilities aren't a monolith, and many of us don't believe that using AI is ceding control, but just the opposite. Did you really just tell me to look up "nothing about us without us"? The irony isn't lost on me.

AI is also being used to help people with disabilities. Like every tool, AI will be used in wonderful and terrible ways. Claiming that AI is useless or ONLY harmful creates greater stigma for disabled people like me who rely on it (and straws, pre-cut fruit, Instacart, etc.) bsky.app/profile/bake...
AI wheelchairs, prosthetics, and exoskeletons can enhance mobility, safety, and autonomy. AI canes, smart glasses, and smart homes can help blind people navigate more safely and independently. AI hearing aids can enhance speech, reduce noise, and translate languages. There are countless examples.

Ableism and ChatGPT: Why People Fear It Versus Why They Should Fear It
Philosophers have been discouraging the use of ChatGPT and sharing ideas about how to make it harder for students to use this software to “cheat.” A recent post on Daily Nous represents the mainstream...

Poltergeist – I saw it with my big brother, and at the time, I looked just like Heather O'Rourke, the young actress who played the little girl, Carol Anne (that's me on the left).

The memory care facility was entirely unprepared for Mom's arrival. Their mishandling of the situation (and of my Mom's body!) made a stressful time traumatic for a woman with Alzheimer's, who was already scared and confused.

The way this country treats our elders is shameful.
