I despise "on accident". An accident does not have a physical manifestation so you can't put something on it!
Re gift as a verb I do think it has use when the item given was a gift. And this has been around since the mid-90s.

I think my right arm is going yo be my space arm. All my favorite space ships.
I have a negative band of white space on my left so I'm going to fill in nearly black space band around my right and then the rest of the space will be ships.

They stopped printing pennies and I can say after 230 years of them being in make, I have accumulated and retained maybe 6 of them. No pennies in the sofa. Lost the change jugs long ago.
