“Because I don’t think she’s really transgender.”

This is a kid who’s been hospitalized twice since I’ve started talking to him.

I spent about five minutes advocating for his child before he saw himself out.

I’m not gonna agree to disagree that you can bully your child.

Fuck that shit.

I poured us each glass of wine, and we sat down to catch up. I asked about his daughter who has had some issues. “Well, her therapist has decided that my behavior has risen to the level of abuse, and reported me to the state… because I won’t use her pronouns.”
😶
“Why won’t you use their pronouns?”

I don’t know how she died. It seems it was sudden. I know she had mental health struggles when she was young. She was a perfectionist. I can only hope she’s found perfect peace.

RIP Amy. Definitely too soon.

I think I only saw her once since we graduated from high school. I reached out to her in California. We were never able to connect. I think she left Abington behind her completely and for good. In many ways, I can hardly blame her. (I left never to return as well.)

Occasionally, I would meet a doctor who had trained at UCLA Harbor Medical Center, and since I knew she was there, I would ask if they had trained with her. If they did, they remembered her in glowing terms.

In a high school class that was full of extremely bright people, she was truly a genius. She was also funny and kind.

I didn’t see anywhere that you could actually contact the White House on it.
