Unfortunately a lot of people try to make it a thing or seem “better” because they’re able to read physical books. And, it sucks to see people get told they’re not “reading” when reading an audio book.

I can read but it is incredibly ableist to say it’s not reading. People who are blind are still reading, people who are dyslexic are still reading, people with other disabilities are still reading. Calling it not reading or being annoyed by it is ableist

The Pope grew up in Brazil where he was often threatened by gangs because he tried to help get rid of drugs, prostitution, etc. the “hard core traditional” Catholics already denounce him. So I don’t think it’s anything new to him
